Egypt To Host First Francophone Film Festival In Cairo
Authorities in Egypt have announced that their capital city will play host to its first Cairo Francophone Film Festival from 10-14 December 2020. The festival is aimed to promote artistic connections and relationships between industry professionals and helping to build bridges in the francophone cinema industry.
According to the organisers, The president of the festival and its advisory committee will set about defining the festival's guidelines and endorse the selection. The selection committee must receive films submitted by participants before the 1st of November. The selected movies will be projected outdoors onto historical sites around Cairo.
Event organisers say there will also be a variety of workshops, masterclasses and activities to support Africa's francophone movie industry, and Egyptian officials say they are delighted to welcome industry players from across the francophone countries in Africa.
