South Africa: SABC Says It's Ready To Broadcast Bundesliga Football On TV and Radio

After contracting broadcast rights to German Bundesliga football matches for the 2020/21 season, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) says it is now ready for the first kick-off, which it says will be broadcasted live on its SABC3 channel at 20h00 (SAT-South African Time).

SABC Sports coverage of the 2020/21 Bundesliga season will commence with the match between the reigning champions of the Bundesliga FC Bayern Munich and FC Schalke.

As part of readiness, SABC says it has put together a stellar studio host team anchored by journalist and former football player Sizwe Mbebe. He, according to the SABC media statement, will be joined by former Bafana Bafana captain Sibusiso Zuma, Sinesipho Mali - a technical performance analyst, and Banyana goalkeeper Kaylin Swart. SABC Sport has also announced that there would be the simultaneous commentary of the live matches on its SABC Radio Stations such as Radio 2000, Umhlobo Wenene FM, Ligwalagwala FM and Munghana Lonene FM.

As part of the rights package, SABC Sport will also showcase the 'Bundesliga weekly preview' show, as the 'Highlights show' with reviews and talking points from the weekend matches and post-match interviews.
