Ghana’s Citi TV Goes Live On DStv
The Accra-based Television Station, Citi TV, went live on DSTV, yesterday, January 16, a move that is likely to massively increase its viewership and allow the station to acquire a more extensive audience share.
MultiChoice’s DSTV platform broadcasts in over 50 sub-Saharan countries, including Madagascar and Cape Verde and is going to give Citi TV a significantly broader reach.
A statement released by the management said that viewers would benefit from insightful news, current affairs programmes as well as arts and culture, lifestyle and content that is youth-oriented.
When the move to DSTV was initially announced in December 2019, the Managing Director of the TV station, Samuel Attah-Mensah, said that the station aimed to create more engaging content in the new year as it prepares itself for Ghana’s election 2020 coverage.
The statement mentioned that Citi TV would also be available on MultiChoices’ GOtv channel 182.
Prior to taking this latest step, Citi TV has been available on the Multi TV Satellite bouquet and the Free to Air Digital Platform, reaching all 16 regions of Ghana.
Its sister radio station, Citi FM, is also available on DStv channel 882 and on GOtv channel 195.
Citi TV started broadcasting officially, on June 1, 2018, and over this short period of its operation, it has made notable progress with its promotions. Campaigns and compelling programmes, making it one of the preferred local channels in Ghana.
