Africa Magic Launches New Reality Shows For 2020
Africa Magic has kicked off the New Year with a series of new reality shows. It recently announced that it would be introducing three new TV shows: ‘Dr Laser’, ‘Date My Family’, ‘Confessions’ and a new drama series - ‘Unmarried’.
The first to launch was ‘Date my Family’ a 45-minute show that began airing on January 5 and will show until April 26. The reality dating show follows a suitor who goes to have dinner with three different families of three potential dates and then ultimately has to choose a winning date based on the experience with the date’s family members.
‘Confessions’ launched the following day, January 6. It is an intriguing reality show where the viewer gets to see real-life confessions between siblings, friends and love interests. The revelations might be good or bad. The person who is being confessed to is not aware of what’s to come until the cameras begin to roll, so viewers get to witness real-life reactions and situations. The 30-minute show promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
The new drama series ‘Unmarried’ was rolled out on the platform on January 8. The series is about three friends who face challenges in their relationships, careers and dating lives.
‘Dr. Laser’ is a medical reality show about people who are undergoing plastic surgery in Nigeria, and it will follow next on January 10. It will show until April 3.
Commenting on the launch of the new reality shows, Africa Magic’s Channel Director Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu said that reality-TV shows are popular because they showcase real people as they experience real-life circumstances, thus connecting with viewers on a more personal and relatable level.
All shows will be aired on Africa Magic Showcase.
