TRACE Launches Gospel Channel To Expand African Portfolio
Trace has joined forces with the MultiChoice group to roll out a dedicated 24-hour gospel channel, Trace Gospel, in sub-Saharan Africa on DStv’s Channel 332.
Since 2003, the channel has been a favourite destination for music, entertainment, celebrity news, culture and lifestyle. In 2016, it introduced Trace Africa, a channel dedicated to Southern African music.
The new Trace Gospel channel will put a spotlight on the best of local and international gospel with music videos from different sub-genres which include Urban Gospel, Contemporary Gospel, Traditional Gospel and Worship Gospel.
The 24-hour channel will be made available on all DStv packages including Family, Premium, Compact and Compact Plus packages.
Valentine Gaudin-Muteba, the Managing Director of Trace Southern Africa, said that Trace Gospel is a channel where Trace can share music, worship, interviews and news within the gospel genre. She added that Trace is looking to deliver a channel that is an exploration into Gospel music as well as a platform for the continents’ artists to share the gospel sounds that resonate most with them.
Programmes on the new channel will include Sounds of South Africa, Urban Vibes, Hits 30 and Praise Vibes, a blend of international and local praise and worship playlists.
MultiChoice’s CEO of General Entertainment Yolisa Phahle said that the addition would ensure that subscribers are exposed to even more entertainment options for their families; offering more value this festive season.
The channel will officially launch on December 18.
