Nigeria: NFC On A Mission To Fund Films That Promote Peace
The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) has announced that it would now focus on funding the production of film projects that promote peace, discourage human migration and modern-day slavery as well as the adverse effects of drugs in the society.
The Head of NFC's Public Relations and Intergovernmental Affairs, Brian Etuk disclosed this in a recent statement.
Etuk said that the funding would be for movies that would emerge as winners in the 10th ZUMA Film Festival in the category for Co-production Market and Pitching Forum.
He noted that the Co-production Forum was to allow film professionals and fresh talents to meet, network and pitch their film projects to production companies, financiers, sales agents and distributors.
The NFC official said that applications for the feature film project submission were open to emerging film directors and producers in the film and cinema arts from both private and public film schools.
Etuk added that practising filmmakers that have with less than five years of professional experience could also partake as long as they met the requirements set by the judges and investors.
He said that more details for the competition were provided on their website for the realisation of their film projection.
