GOtv Nigeria To Air WBF Heavyweight Match On ‘Boxing Night’ 20th Edition
GOtv Boxing Night 20 will be held on Saturday, December 28 and will see headlined by the World Boxing Federation (WBF) the Intercontinental heavyweight title match between the US-based Nigerian, Onoriode ‘Godzilla’ Ehwarieme, and the Argentinan Ariel ‘Chiquito’ Baracamonte.
The organisers of the GOtv Boxing Night have announced that the upcoming 20th edition will have nine bouts and will be held at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.
According to Jenkins Alumona, the CEO of Flykite Productions, the scheduled heavyweight match between Baracamonte, Ehwarieme is a partial-fulfilment of the promise the production company had made to host world-class bouts at the show.
Ehwarieme promised to put in an excellent fight to boost the viewing pleasure of the audience.
He said that to prepare for the fight, he had only seen one video clip of his opponent but intended to see more before the bout.
Aside from the WBF heavyweight fight, other matches lined up include the West African Boxing Union (WABU)’s lightweight title defence where Nigeria’s Rilwan ‘Real One’ Oladosu, will take on Ghana’s Ezekiel Anan; the WABU welterweight title fight between Rilwan ‘Baby Face’ Babatunde and Ghana’s Sanitor Agbenyo.
Also listed on the line-up is the national featherweight challenge clash between Olusegun Moses and Taiwo ‘Esepo’ Agbaje; as well as the national super featherweight duel between Sikiru ‘Omo Iya Eleja’ Shogbesan and Ridwan ‘Scorpion’ Oyekola.
The best boxer will take home a cash prize of N1million ($2746.00) as well as the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy.
